[Plugin: Anyfeed Slideshow] Not working with Feedburner feeds ?

I think the issue here was caused by that feed having broken images in it. When I was last testing it, all three of the images were broken- though earlier one was functional.

I have made changes to the code to detect broken images on the fly, and remove them from the slide show. This should resolve this issue.

Hi Handig,

This would appear to be an issue with malformed XML. I have added some regex to correct these issues before they reach the JavaScript; The fix worked perfectly in my test environment, so let’s hope it does the same for you.

You can find the fix in 1.0.10.

I looked again for this feed:

and something shows but I noticed that the image is not replaced by a new image even if the timing settings are only 1,000 ms

Also this feedburner feed doesn’t show at all. It stays on ‘loading’.

The first feed link works perfectly on a fresh install of the latest version of the plugin using Firefox 3.6 in OS X:

What browser/OS are you using?

The second feed is definitely a problem that I will look into ASAP (hopefully today).

I checked the source of the Feedburner feed you listed as not working:

The only images listed in that feed are 1px by 1px images feedburner inserts into each item for tracking purposes. The Anyfeed Slideshow plugin strips those (as well as the feedburner comment count) images out of it’s results to avoid including effectively blank images in the slideshow.

In other words, the bug here is it should be displaying a “No Images Found” error. I will look into fixing that for the next version.

Thanks again for reporting these issues! As for your other feed problems, could you try uninstalling and re-installing the plug-in to see if that clears up the problems you’re experiencing?
