I’m working on a fix now. It should be ready very soon.

Actually, I just checked your site and you have 3 versions of SWFObject loaded on it (from various plugins including mine).

I’m about to update the swfobject bundled with Audio Player to 2.2 which should fix the problem. However, I’m pretty sure you have another older version in there: https://www.eclectro.nl/ue09/homepageplayer/swfobject_modified.js

If my next release doesn’t fix the problem, I recommend you have a look at this file.

    Martin,

Thank you for your elaborate response. It’s amazing to see that, after many months of seemingly radio silence from your side, you’re so active again. Thanks for that. Audio player is one of the, if not the most important plugins for my humble site, and my appreciation for it is tremendous!

As for your comments: I’ve just upgraded to 2.0.2, and immediately the problem disappeared. For the sake of safety, I’ve disabled the cripled swfobject_modified.js (our coder already forget what he used it for anyway). I’ll therefore put this thread on resolved.

One final question: what exactly does swfobject do? Is it necessary to allow something to be presented in flash?

People probably don’t realise this but being a WordPress plugin developer is not an easy ride ?? Especially when the plugin is a popular one. People use my player in so many different ways that I can’t possibly test each variation. This means that I have to spend a fair amount of time fixing stuff and helping others fix their problems. Hence the 2-3 year “radio silence”. I just got tired of it and lost the motivation. I’m getting back into it now and it’s quite a buzz. I hope I’ll manage to keep going though. I love Audio Player and I love to see how people use it.

swfobject is pretty much the standard way of embedding flash objects on a web page. It handles checking that the right version of Flash is installed and uses the best method to embed Flash for each browser.

    Martin,

Yes, it is easily forgotten how cumbersome taking care of such a project is. Massive thanks for picking this one up again. I stumble upon the player on so many sites that you’re more than welcome to feel very proud about yourself!
