OK. At long last I finally have a beta release of version 2.0 ready for you to try out. You can download it here: https://www.wpaudioplayer.com.
Please post questions and feedback to this forum topic.

I just upgraded to WP 2.7 and noticed the same issue: “Audio Player” button in Media Uploader no longer seems to function correctly. Not too much of a problem as inserting [audio… ] by hand still works ok.
Hi – This is a great plugin, I’ve been using it for a while now, and I especially appreciate the changes you’ve made to the new version.
Is there a way that I can set up the plugin (or hack it) to display a regular link to the mp3 file to browsers that can’t do flash? Like, instead of displaying the “You need flash version 10, etc” message, just display the title of the audio file as a normal link?
Thanks in advance!
Davejust upgraded to WP 2.7 and now the latest stable version (1.2.3) does not work in Firefox 3.0.5. The file just says “Buffering”. The same file works in IE7 though.
Pre-2.7 upgrade the plug-in worked on both browsers.
Sorry if this has been answered already but I tried browsing through this thread and couldn’t find anything.
Is there a way to obscure/obfuscate the songFile url in the stand-alone version?
Thanks!
Great features, thank you very much, your plugin works very well.
I really like the “colours in your theme” selector, but I wish it would process css files hidden behind an @import rule in the default style.css stylesheet.
Thanks!
having one issue on only 1 blog. I used this on 1 blog and it works great and I install it on another and what it will do is start then flop over to a 404. I hear a few words of the podcast and then nothing it goes to a 404 error page. What am I doing wrong

https://www.davewoodson.comthis is really the best flash mp3 player there is,
I read through all the comments on the main page and was very hopeful that the 2.0 beta release would include support for alternate content if the user doesn’t have flash installed. Like a link to download for instance..
Is there any hope of this being included?
also,
When i go to insert media, and I select AUDIO PLAYER from the list that is right below the form it flashes the code to insert the player using the [audio:] method very quickly but still leaves the form field blank… such strange behaivior! i can’t figure out why, this happens in the latest firefox. haven’t tested in ie yet. i dont think it’s your plugin but it’s still strange. anyone else get that?thanks!
Hello,
Thanks for this great plugin!I’m using WordPress 2.7 and the latest beta version of AudioPlayer. I’ve found that having the “Podcasting” plugin stops it working. If I have Podcasting enabled, Audio Player has two problems. Firstly it says it cannot find the file, and secondly, it ignores the colours I have set for it.
I determined this by switching to the classic theme and disabling all my plugins, then systematically re-enabling all of my plugins one by one.
Thanks for reading.
I hate to have to ask something so basic, but I can’t get this thing to appear at all.
When you say enter…
[audio:myfile.mp3]
You mean just type that into the post? It just displays as text in the post. Or else nothing appears.
Am using WP 2.7 and AP 1.2
the settings are for Replace Syntax
Have tried on FF3 and Safari
Thanks
After reading this and many others, and posting this, I still cannot get the Audio Player in Podcasting to do anything besides sit there and say “Buffering…” forever.
What are the common causes of endless buffering and what can I look at to try to fix this problem? Has anyone else had this problem and solved it?
More information:
After reading the Audio Player Troubleshooting page, I checked the possible problems listed.
- I am running Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1
- I am running Firefox 3.0.5
- I have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player installed (10,0,12,36)
- I have 5 Firefox windows open with at least 50 tabs total, so it is possible that there are multiple instances of Flash Player running
The presence of Windows and Firefox 3 indicate a possible failure of Audio Player, but Flash Player 10 supposedly fixed this problem. Could this be a permissions or server configuration problem? If so, what kind of things should I look for?
The site is hosted by GoDaddy. Has anyone else had problems with GoDaddy and Audio Player or Podcasting?
Concur with others that are using WordPress 2.7 – the Audio Player button on the media upload screen doesn’t work. The code flashes up briefly but doesn’t insert and you have to do it manually within the post.
Thanks for this beautiful and useful plugin – we’ve been using it for quite a long time on our parish website at https://www.st-antonius-kuenzell.de
Sadly, some time ago, newer files’ tag information started not to be displayed in the applet, although the artist and title tags are properly set.
Updating to the latest beta has reminded me of this, as now the somewhat confusing “Track 1” info is shown.
The problem seems to be the tag format. ID3v2.3 tags are correctly pulled and displayed, whereas ID3v2.4 tags are not.
Examples:
a) MP3 (ID3v2.3) correctly displayed by plugin applet:
https://www.st-antonius-kuenzell.de/2007/12/31/predigt-zu-silvester-neujahr-mit-gott-zeichen-sehen-und-spuren-hinterlassen-lernen/
b) MP3 (ID3v2.4) not correctly displayed by plugin applet:
https://www.st-antonius-kuenzell.de/2009/01/04/predigt-herzenswort-auf-herbergssuche/Is there a way to implement the correct pulling of ID3v2.4 tag data in the foreseeable future?
Help/ideas appreciated – thanks again!
Seen this plugin all over the place. Always impressed with the look and feel of it.
I have put it in place here:
https://www.worldhealerinstitute.org/student-member/archives/category/audios/
Looks fine and was no problem to put in place. I am having a problem with the audio playback though.
I have encoded to 44100 Mhz.
Wordpress 2.6.5I still get garbled and squeaky playback.
Any thoughts?
Thank you,
Sam
This is a great, great plugin, and before I upgraded to the latest versions of WordPress and AudioPlayer I had no problems at all.
Now, though, after upgrading both, I am also having variable success. The player works fine on one post on one blog, and works fine on another post on another blog, but in different posts on both it will only insert a link, not the player.
I cannot insert the player through Firefox at all. I inserted it through the interface once only in Safari. In the other case I inserted it manually, to no avail.
Here are two things that may be relevant:
1) the troublesome blog is a literary journal which goes live in February so all the posts are scheduled. I can view them only in preview and only from the admin login.
2) the sound files in each case are different sizes. The one that works is 500 KB and the one that doesn’t is 1.3 MB I can’t see why that would matter, but it is the only difference I can find.
If I can’t find a workaround before the issue goes live I will have to install a different player but I really don’t want to do that.
