  • So that plugins existing shortcode won’t do that?

Just realized this plugin does what I want via shortcode. Thanks.

Actually what I wanted to do was combine this plugin with another in one that allows me to output the author’s info on each single page display. So what I am really looking for is a way to display only the information that pertains to a specific author in a widget or in code that I could put on each single post.

You do that by creating an author.php file. Check the codex for detailed instructions on how to do that. The Author Avatars widget lets you choose to link the author’s name to their author page.

And you can use the Avatars plug-in to load the image if wish. Documentation is here: https://authoravatars.wordpress.com/documentation/developers-guide/

I made a bit of a hash of explaining what my actual question was. Sorry.

Here’s what I was saying. I have three avatar and author related plugins now: Author Avatars List, Author Information Widget, and Avatars. Each has different functionality which I want. I want to reduce the number of plugins I use and wanted to see if the author avatars plugin had the ability to replicate the functionality of either of the other two.

In particular, the Author Information Widget is useful in that it allows me to serve a widget on each single post page of the author’s bio and picture and a link to his website. I would prefer to use the Author Avatars List plugin to accomplish this. To date, I have not seen this kind of functionality in the Author Avatars List plugin. Does it have this functionality and if so how do implement it?

I hope that was a bit clearer.

No, it does not have the functionality to display information about the post author on each post page. The main idea or purpose of the author avatars list plugin is the “listing” of “avatars” (or “users”), so the functionality which you describe doesn’t really fit and I would just use a separate plugin for it. Hope this clears things up for you ??
