plugin authorisation

hi there,

thank you for providing this plugin. very helpfull!!
i downloaded and installed it and just wanted to see how to start the authorisation/connection with the existing google analytics account looks like. I dont want to activated it fully now because my site is still on test-invironment and so far also on the testserver. i get a error-message telling me “PHP CURL is required. ask your hosting provider to install/enable PHP CURL.”
i will attach a screenshot.

so my question is: What is this PHP CURL? And do i receive this message maybe only because the site is currently on a no name test provider hosted? I dont see a similar problem in the support area of your pluginsite in wordpress.
the final live website will be hosted on a big webspace provider. so maybe this question is not so important now and it will surely work later on live environment?
