I have twice rolled back to Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg Version 1.25.6 and have auto-updates disabled for this plugin. Twice the system has updated this plugin to the latest version of Spectra (bypassing the disable auto-update option) and brought back all the problems, especially with Advanced Columns. I tried rolling back using Spectra’s version control and got a message saying there has been a critical error on the website and to check my email – which didn’t arrive. The plugin rollback using Spectra’s version control was unsuccessful and it remained as Spectra. I had to restore from a backup, which fortunately had Ultimate Addons 1.25.6 and now the site is OK.

My immediate problem is how to stop WordPress auto-updating UAG to Spectra. Grateful for help.

    Hey @ukandrzej:

This is strange. Perhaps, your host might be updating the plugin to the latest version?

I can confirm our plugin does not have any functionality or code related to automatic backups.

Thanks @sujaypawar. It turns out that Jetpack has a module called Plugin Management. UAG was set to auto-update and it has obviously been overriding my setting in the WP dashboard. I’ve disabled the auto-update setting in Jetpack. Naughty that Jetpack don’t warn users that the settings in this module override the ones in the WP dashboard.
