the plugin has been working for a while.
but since a few months, it’s just not working.

i’ve tried to use the option to reset the plugin. i’ve triend installing/deleting the plugin.
i’ve tried to deactivate other plugins.

i’ve even changed my youtube profile.

it just doesn’t do anything anymore.

every time i click on “import videos” it says “imported videos: 0”.

May I have your playlist ID?

    Hi there,

Here is the Playlist ID, is just a test one but i know it works.
    Playlist ID: PLC3A855D4B4E9BF9F

    Full URL
    https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLC3A855D4B4E9BF9F

Looks like the playlist is set to private here.

Odd… I was 100% sure it was set to Public instead… I ll check it as soon as I get back home. Thank you for your quick feedback.
    Cheers,!

You might be correct. I was just checking the feed and it seems there isn’t one for this channel. Just guessing the feed isn’t public.

    @mpraetzel

    Oki doke…
I have tried two playlists, one is the one I had posted before that it turned out it was set to Public
    PLC3A855D4B4E9BF9F
So I have just added a very popular one also public posted on youtube on Feb 2008.
    PLDAF67CEE274D244A
    FULL URL
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jra6ieSa9JM&feature=mr_meh&list=PLDAF67CEE274D244A&playnext=0

I did get the same result with both. The page cannot be display on the URL from where the feed should be available. What Im starting to think is simply that this APIE is no longer working or is outdated.

    Let me know your thoughts.

[SOLUTION] After lots of research I decided that the reset worked, but for some reason it doesn’t clear the entries from the database. Did a reset and check wp_posts and wp_mete and found TONS of duplicates. I removed _wp_attached and anything that matched the size of my video. Import worked after the DB cleanup, but will happen again if you do no have a SYSTEM for naming your videos. I would suggest not changing too much to the post because when you do duplicate posts are SURE to happen. Leave a dummy category for ALL videos imported and add additional ones as needed! Not sure if there is any validation or dupechecks either…

Ran into another issue where videos disappear from posts – not sure what causes this or how to fix it. Re-added the video ID and he post forgets after updates…any ideas? https://www.pharoahsalaam.com to take a look

What channel are you having the disappearing videos with?

    Oki doke,

Here is the thing. I would like to congratulate you for the excellent support you are providing and having said that I also wanted to let you know that I’m thankful of your efforts correcting the plugin.

The initial issue was that the plugin didn’t really import the videos on the channel nor the playlist due to some strange error. Possibly an update on the Youtube API that seems to be fixed as the URL generated to read the Playlist or Channel is OK.

Now there is an improvement but so far the Plugin was able just to Import 1 video from the Channel and 0 from a Playlist. The error is the following:
    ******************************************************************
Google has responded that you have made too many requests for videos.
Attempting to download videos 1 through 50 from playlist: “NameofPlaylist”
    ******************************************************************
And the same with the Channel.

I will see how it goes after a few hours letting the Plugin run the Autoimport Job after the time I have set (1 Hour) and see how it goes. I’m going to bed but I wanted to highlight your efforts before doing so.

Google will only allow you to make so many queries for their data in a certain time period. Looks like you’ve attempting importing too many times.

Ok, no luck as it kept giving the same error. What I′m doing now is to set the Time to run the IMPORT to 6 hours instead of 1 hour and see how it goes.
Is there any chance to set the amount of tries to less than 50? To avoid this?

    Plugin Author ternstyle

    (@mpraetzel)

It only looks for 20 videos automatically. It looks for 5o at a time when you attempt an import. I’ll have to look at how to better optimize the import to keep the number of requests down.

@mpraetzel – channel is MrPharoahSalaam iThought it was fixed, but the issue has returned. ALL Youtube data is missing from the post. I can re-add the information, but it disappears after the update.

Is all the data present directly after import? What other plugins are you using?

I’ve been keeping an eye on the plugin, and the things that seem to go wrong.

A lot has improved. And you know i’m thankfull for your unpayed effort you are putting into this.

However…. When I upload a video into my youtube account, it takes a long time for the plugin to find it.
This morning I uploaded a video, and 14 hours later it still wasn’t imported. It said “an import is taking place”, but nothing happened. After resetten the import, I click “Import video” again, and it suddenly said “video allready imported”. I checking “posts” and there it was.
This happens quite often. This time it took over 14 hours, but usually takes around 10 hours for the plugin to do something.
It always says “import is taking place”, but nothing ever happened (just like in the previous versions).

My metadata seems to be allright. Allthough I don’t pay much attention to that. I just want the video’s. I don’t care to much about the rest.

I did check my app, to see if the video was in the RSS feed. After I upload a video, it appears in the RSS feed within an hour (after the upload has finished). It takes about 10 times longer for the plugin to find the video.

I don’t know if this is helpfull in any way. But my problem right now (still) is, that I have to keep an eye on the plugin. Otherwise it takes WAY to long for the video to appear on my website.

I don’t mean to sound smart, but perhaps you could take a closer look to “WP Youtube Channel Gallery” plugin. It seems to find my video’s before your plugin does.
