• I received this from tech support at myhosting.com where I have a VPS. This is not the first time this has happened –earlier it was with a different plugin, so it may not have anything to do with automatic-youtube-posts 3.0 per se.

    This is a follow up to our recent Live chat session. As per the chat, you have updated the WordPress plugin and after that you are facing issues.

    Below are the steps to recreate the issue.

    Login to the WordPress with the following information.

    https://shaleshockmedia.org/wp-admin/
    User: deleted
    Password: deleted

    In the left column, Youtube Posts >> Channels/Playlists >> Add New.

    Name: chip; channel=northrup49; type=channel; author=ChipTex

    We have checked this case at our end and we are able to recreate the issue.

    Below is the error that we are getting.

    ==============================================
    Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLOPT_FOLLOWLOCATION cannot be activated when safe_mode is enabled or an open_basedir is set in /var/www/vhosts/vps-1102825-10582.manage.myhosting.com/httpdocs/shaleshockmedia.org/wp-content/plugins/automatic-youtube-video-posts/class/curl.php(272) : eval()’d code on line 1
    ==============================================

    We are checking this case at our end and will update you with details shortly.

    Thank you,

    Have them either turn of safe_mode or unset the open base_dir.

    I’m not sure what myhosting.com VPS support did. They like to do things and not tell me what they did.

    Now, I seem to have a conflict. When the automatic-youtube-video-posts plugin is activated, I seem to be missing some of my featured images. When it is not activated and I dump browse cache, they come back. Maybe this is a conflict with Video Thumbnails plugin. I’ve used Video Thumbnails to get my featured imagage from YouTube thumbnails. Now that capability is part of the new automatic-youtube-video-posts plugin

    Automatically retrieve video thumbnails for your posts and display them in your theme. Currently supports YouTube, Vimeo, Blip.tv, Justin.tv, Dailymotion and Metacafe.

    The newest version of my plugin automatically displays thumbnails in posts that have YouTube videos assigned if the theme uses the_post_thumbnail. Are the images displayed if the other plugin is deactivated? Does your theme use the_post_thumbnail to display thumbs?

    I’ll try a few things, but I am wondering, since Jason at Press75 promises to incorporate such features as post thumbnails and meta data import but doesn’t, what would it take to have the two of you find a solution that is robust and works wit the OnDemand theme?
