• I have WP installed at the webroot (not a subfolder). I want to exclude backup of some extra folders I have added to the webroot, like /oldimages. However, when I use /oldimages/ in the excusion box, BackupWordpress backs that folder up anyway.

How do I block a folder in the webroot from being backed up?

Also, I have no need to backup WP software itself. Is this automatically excluded, or do I need to manage this in the exclusion box, too?

    Thanks for any help!

What happens if you add them like this

    oldimages/

    Hi Sigmaweb,

also be sure that if you are backing up multiple items that you are defining each item comma delimited. I remember the first time I was excluding directories didn’t read the directions and was putting each item on a new line so I had.

    debug.log
    another-directory/

    instead of

    debug.log,another-directory/

In 2.0.1 excluding files has been massively improved.

Could you give it a go and see if that fixes your issues.
