• Hi, hosting site on GoDaddy. BackUpWordPress previously worked no problems. Suddenly now getting error message “No valid archive method found.” Under BackUpWordPress/Help/Server Info ZipArchive is Yes and zip command is zip. Latest version running. Tried running again and same error and the download link it produces only forces redirect to dashboard home page.

    Please advise.

    Thank you

    Hello
    Sorry to hear that
We did change the way backups are archived.
But as you mention the plugin reports that Zip and Ziparchive should be available, I’ll look into this.
in the meantime would you mind confirming this with your host?
Also, would be great if tou could enable support via the plugin admin page

I am getting the same message also even though it is being backed up in my Amazon S3 account.

I will also enable support if it helps – https://marketingideals.com

Also, is it possible to automatically DELETE the files from the backupwordpress folder in the wp-content folder after they have transferred to Amazon s3

Thanks, actually I think it is a false positive message. Could you check if the backups are being completed succesfully?

Same exact problem and doesn’t appear to be a false positive. I get this message right after doing a manual full backup and after attempting to download the backup I’m redirected to dashboard and the download doesn’t initiate.

    Never had this problem before.

Thank you for the reports, I will look into these issues as soon as I can

    Same problem here.
Owain Cuvillier sent me an email to update to version 3.2.7? I already had 3.3.0 running and downgraded now to 3.2.7. The backup seems to run in an infinte loop now.

Forgot to mention that I’m using WordPress 4.3.1

Yes same issue with me, redirected to homepage when I try to download the file. WP 4.3.1, all plugins up to date.

I just checked and if i try to download it does redirect to the DASHBOARD but the files are in my AMAZON S3 account and in my wp-content/backupwordpress folder through FTP where i can download them

Ditto for me. Get the error message, but the backup seems to work properly.

same issue here. godaddy hosting. “download” link takes me to my WP dashboard.

    Same issue here..
Backup created but download link takes me to WP Dashboard.

Maybe this screenshot help you : https://prntscr.com/8q29ty

I have the same problem since updating to the latest version (3.3) of the plugin, on a locally hosted site i’m developing (WP 4.3.1). I get the “No valid archive method found” message whenever i do a backup – the backup .zip is being created and appears in the backupwordpress folder but get a 404 not found error when i click the download link for the backup.

    Here’s the not found message…
The requested URL /www.ensemblelaboratorium.comwp-content/backupwordpress-a3d00040b4-backups/localhost8888-ensemblelaboratorium-com-1444229778-database-2015-10-10-23-11-40.zip was not found on this server.
… i notice there’s no / before wp-content in this URL – when i copy the URL and add the missing slash, i can download the file.

    WP 4.3.1
Same issues. Also received 403 Forbidden response as outlined here.

But the current BulletProof WordPress plugin out of the box does not seem to have any conflicts with 3.2.7.

I’ve reverted the BackupWordPress 3.2.7 until this is fixed.

    Thank you!

Seems like they’re taking their time with fixing this, so I’ll revert back to 3.2.7 also. I’ll have to do it on about 6 sites, which is a hassle ??
