[Plugin: BackWPup] Out of memory error

    Using the latest version of both BackWPUp and WordPress.

  • Try using tar and gzip as it uses less resources. In some cases, especially if you are doing a blog directory with lots of images, videos etc that are already compressed, it isn’t even worth compressing again so just use tar which will use much less resources. Additionally, you can try breaking up your backup into a few smaller jobs such as database, themes, blogs, etc. The directories like “blogs” which might be mainly images is probably just worth only tarring.
