  • I’m also following… if we can do something… such as log file hunting? Let us know.

    Dear Daniel,

I might have found another problem. Here is a part of my log-file.

2013/01/26 03:04.05: 1. try for make list of files to backup….
    2013/01/26 03:04.21: 5093 files with 67.3 MB to backup
2013/01/26 03:04.21: 1. try to create backup zip (PclZip) archive…
2013/01/26 03:32.48: [ERROR] Job restarted, because inactivity!
2013/01/26 03:32.49: 2. try to create backup zip (PclZip) archive…
2013/01/26 03:33.32: Backup zip archive create done
    2013/01/26 03:33.32: Backup-bestand is 39.19 MB

This error happens every day. Any ideas why?

    Pleas try tar.gz archive formart

Thanks for the tip! I have changed the format.
Tomorrow, I will give you an update (I backup midnight not during working hours).

I have tried with tar.gz and the result is the same

I have tried with tar.gz and the result is the same

Do you have the same -job restarted, because inactivity- problem?

No, it just stays there at 11%

    2013/01/28 12:18.33: 1.42 GB free on DropBox
    2013/01/28 12:18.33: Upload to DropBox now started…

    60%
    11%

    Pleas try tar.gz archive formart

Thanks. I think this works (at least I got no error last night).

Now, we have to work on dropbox. ??

It still doesn’t work for me

can u test the development Version off thise Plugin on WP.org?

When I try to upload the dev version I get:

    Destination folder already exists. /home/krila/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/

    Plugin install failed.

UPDATE: When I unchecked use maintenance mode, it worked fine.

I’m having the same problem with the DropBox upload freezing… I have one site where it works and another where it freezes. They both have the same active plugins, running WP3.5.1. Main difference between backup job setups is that on one site, I enabled maintenance mode for the backup, and I also included DB optimize in the job along with backing up tables and files. They are also on two different hosts: The working one is on BlueHost, the non-working one is on DreamHost. (Though I do have another site on DreamHost where it works fine.) Maybe this will help track it down?

    nice to know @siriusly

I’m sorry but my maintenance mode was already unchecked and still fails

I tested the backup with other backup tools for wordpress and they all stop after upload starts… some at 10% other at 25% (but I guess this depends on the file size to upload).
I sent an email to the hosting provider to see if there is a limit on upload size.
Is it possible to upload in chunks of smaller files?
