    What theme are you using? Have you checked the settings under Threaded Replies in the bbPress Settings panel?

    When you look at the forum listing, do these topics have pagination next to their title?

    I’m using Genesis.

    I can’t find the Threaded Replies settings within the bbPress Main Settings panel. Where should it be showing up?

    Are you talking about viewing a list of the topics when you say “look at the forum listing”? What do you mean by “pagination”?

    When I look at the topics that are in a forum, it does NOT show how many pages are in the forum. When I click on the topic to see the replies, it does NOT show the number of pages when the plugin is activated. When I deactivate the plugin, the number of pages DOES show up.

    Thanks

    The Threaded Replies settings are in Forums > Settings under the Single Slugs settings when the plugin is active. I’ve done my best for this to be compatible, but if there are custom overrides to pagination, that might be happening on a theme level. Does replying work?

    By “pagination”, I mean that when looking at a list of topics, those that should be broken into pages have a list of the topic pages next to the topic title: Title [1] [2] [3].

    The only options I have under Forums (along the left hand of the WP site) is All Forums, New Forum and Attachments.

    The bbPress that shows up in the admin short cuts across the top of the site only shows Add New Forum.

    Am I missing something else that should be installed?

    Yes, you CAN reply to a topic and have it listed at the bottom of all the other replies.

    The pagination does NOT show up when looking at the list of topics (both with and without the plugin being active. It only shows up when you are looking at the individual topic and replies when the plugin is NOT active.

    Thanks

    bbPress settings are under Settings > Forums. What versions of bbPress and bbPress Threaded Replies are you running?

    OK – I found the settings, but don’t see anything that looks like it might influence this. Is there something I should be looking for?

    bbPress is version 2.0.2
    Threaded Replies is version 0.4.1

    Thanks

    If the option for “Break replies into pages” is unchecked, all replies will be displayed in a single page.

    I just installed bbPress 2.0.2 and confirmed that this plugin works with the bbPress (Twenty Ten), Twenty Eleven, and Twenty Ten themes. Topics display pagination correctly. Genesis may have a pagination filter that is incompatible with the filters that generate correct pagination for top-level replies.

    I updated the Break Replies Into Pages option to show as a single page. This DOES show all the replies in one long page (which works for me).
    But now I’ve noticed that when you reply to a specific post, the new comment DOES show up right under the post they were replying to, but it’s not indented or highlighted in any way to show that it is a reply to that specific post and not just another new comment on the main topic.

    Any ideas, or does it just mean the plugin doesn’t work well with Genesis?
    Thanks

    bbPress Threaded Replies comes with a stylesheet that provides indents in the reply list. Genesis is probably just providing very specific styles that aren’t being overridden; you can add something like:

    #content .replylist ul.children {
    list-style: none;
    margin: 0 0 0 2.0em;
    }

    to your theme’s custom stylesheet to enforce the indentation rules.
