I am having an interesting issue. When I search a page by category breadcrumb shows at follows:

BLOG > OUR LISTINGS > ACTIVE LISTINGS > ARCHIVE BY CATEGORY ‘SELLERS’

    instead of

BLOG > ARCHIVE BY CATEGORY ‘SELLERS’

I am not even sure where is it picking up those two pages from. Anyone else experienced this? I have uninstalled and reinstalled breadcrumb navxt with the same result.

    Thanks for any help.

The only way this should happen is if “Sellers” is a subcategory of “Active Listings” which in tern would have to be a subcategory of “Listings”. And, that would be on a single post or on an archive. Searches will contain “Home > Search results for ‘SEARCH TERMS'”.

    Thanks for the response,

Is there a way I could check this? It is doing this no matter what category I try to pull up. The interesting thing is it works perfect if I do a search or pull up posts by author. I actually deleted the page ‘ACTIVE LISTINGS’ and it STILL kept showing up which was very interesting. Then I went into the mysql database and removed all revision posts and it stopped displaying but now it has an additional > sign in the menu.

Any ideas where I could start to diagnose further?

    Thank you for your help.

By doing this for every category you pull up, you mean you get the “OUR LISTINGS > ACTIVE LISTINGS” in there? What is “Our Listings” and “Active Listings”? Are they categories? Are they pages? Are they both?

Yes I get the “OUR LISTINGS > ACTIVE LISTINGS” displaying each category.

Listings is a page and Active Listings is a subpage of Listings. I switched Active listings to a main page and the “OUR LISTINGS” disappeared so I just had “BLOG > ACTIVE LISTINGS > ARCHIVE BY CATEGORY ‘SELLERS'”.

It seems somehow Active Listings are tied to the ARCHIVE BY CATEGORY settings, I just can not figure out how that would happen.

Well if both “OUR LISTINGS” and “ACTIVE LISTINGS” are only pages (as in the post type) and are not categories. Then there are only two ways they could be showing up in the trail like this. The first is that “ACTIVE LISTINGS” is set at your posts page. The second could be an odd side effect of a bug I inadvertently introduced in 3.8.0.

Can you try the SVN trunk (development) version of Breadcrumb NavXT and see if the problem persists?

    (@ryanorrrealtor)

I tried the development version same results. I looked at the html it looks like its adding a blank link in the menu path as well. I am not sure where it is trying to pull the data from.

Try deactivating and then reactivating the plugin (or on the Breadcrumb NavXT settings page, click the “Import/Export/Reset” tab and press the “Reset” button).

I just tried both, same result.

Well, I ended up just backing up and installing everything fresh and it works perfect now. I have no idea what was causing it. Thanks for taking your time to try to help me fix this issue.

Ok, that sounds odd, but at least it works now. I’ll have to keep this in mind if I, or someone else, runs into this in the future.
