plugin breaks form validation

    wordpress 6.1.1
    php 7.4
    contact form 7 5.7.2
    date time picker 2.6.0

    this cf7 code
    [date* start-date class:text100 date-format:dd/mm/yy]

    results in a form validation error.
    seems to be a quite new error, never happened before.
    code unchanged.
