After running the most recent update I noticed on multiple sites that when this plugin is active it causes the Media Library to function improperly.

Specifically, it only seems to break the Media Library when adding a featured image to a Custom Post. Adding a featured image to Posts and Pages seems to be normal.

I’m seeing the same issue. Specifically when I have the Yoast MetaBox hidden on those specific custom post types. Also when a plugin creates a custom post type that doesn’t show the Yoast SEO MetaBox (ex. Widget Content Blocks).

This causes Screen Options Tab & Add Media Button not to work on editing screen.

    Seeing this error in Console.
    wpseoPostScraperL10n is not defined

Things work fine again when I disable this plugin or when I show the MetaBox for that post type (when possible).

This breaks the Soliloquy plugin and Media Library. I had to revert to the old plugin instead that is deprecated.

    Any resolution?

What version of Yoast SEO are you using? Free or Pro?

Okay I think I got this pinned down. It is kind of an issue/incompatibility with Yoast SEO itself that is only triggered in certain situations when the Yoast SEO Metabox is not present.

They are working on it, you can follow the progress here: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/7651

Maybe we can come up with a workaround for this plugin but I am not sure if that is possible and it might need to be fixed in Yoast SEO itself.

Thanks for the update Thomas. Looks like that issue might be something they are struggling with. Is there any problem with using the deprecated version with the new version of Yoast SEO (Free) while it is being resolved? Will it still work?

Let us know if you come up with a work around or a temporary hack.

    Thanks for your help.

It also breaks acf pro etc.

Using current version of plugin prevents adding new images to the Envira Gallery plugin. It shows the following error.

When I de-activate plugin, I can add images to Envira Gallery.

For now you don’t really have any other option than downgrading to 1.2.6.

But we are working on a fix and will let you know once this is ready, sorry for any inconvenience caused.

I’ve just merged a potential fix to this in our development code, but unfortunately I can’t promise you when this will actually be released as I am doing this in my spare time whenever work permits. Hopefully pretty soon though ??

Thanks for the response Thomas, and potential fix. Keep us posted.

This is fixed in version 2.0.1 which we have just released. If you have any further issues please open a new topic.
