WordPress 4.4 introduces the new oEmbed endpoints in WordPress it self.

Unfortuantely the cloudFlare (version 1.3.19) plugin is somehow interfering with this behavior.

Tested and reproduced:

Both sites run WordPress 4.4-beta2

SiteA is behind CloudFlare using the CloudFlare plugin
SiteB is not on CloudFlare or using the plugin

Get a post link from SiteA, and paste it into the post editor on SiteB, then hit return to make a newline.

Normally, this would trigger the oEmbed preview to be built, but with the plugin active it remains a normal text string.

Disable CloudFlare plugin on SiteA, and get a different article (article responses are cached for a period), paste the new article link into SiteB and hit return. The preview now appears as expected.

Just released version 1.3.20 does not fix this issue.

Basically if any other WordPress site wants to embed a post from a WordPress site running the CloudFlare plugin with protocol rewriting enabled, it will fail.

For the following url I should be able to embed in other WordPress sites:
https://www.imforza.com/blog/top-internet-marketing-articles-2015/

WordPress outputs two urls for oembed to make this happen, however trying to embed the post in another WordPress site and you will only get a link.

Example of the oembed urls WordPress generates:

I have been testing on my personal blog (https://shanegowland.com) and have the same issue, wherein pasted links simply appear as text instead of rich embeds on the front end.

I’ve also just updated to latest Cloudflare plugin and it’s crashing two of my websites. White screen on one of them and unable to log in without disabling plugin via FTP. Now when try to reactivate it I now get fatal error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING or ‘(‘ in
……./wordpress/wp-content/plugins/cloudflare/cloudflare.php on line 36

Exact directory name abbreviated as this is public forum. Would appreciate your help guys.
