Plugin broken since latest WP update 4.1.1

Yes, I agree with Isabella: this is the plugin we need and it stopped working on my site too. Will there be an update?

Still working fine for me on WP 4.2.1. Upgraded recently and the plugin is still working.

I am using the v1.1.6-patched that was distributed in this thread.

I have two sites with this valuable plugin. It stopped working in both since I upgraded to WP 4.2.2.

I updated the reorder-posts-within-categories.php file with this: https://gist.github.com/thisislawatts/acedf49b7f40a9f18bfb
but it did not solve the issue. I still get a blank page on the reorder tab under posts when I select a category instead of a list of the posts.

Anyone know has another fix? Thank you!

OK, I found another plugin that explores the same functionality: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/simple-custom-post-order/

After installation FIRST go to Settings->SCPOrder and check Posts, Pages, or whatever it is you are looking to reoder.

To reorder Posts: When in Posts tab, pull up only posts from a certain category and reorder away! The beauty of this plugin is that you will have the same order on your Admin page as on your live site.

It would be great to see this fixed. This is the only plug-in that met our needs to get a curated category listing in template (that was achieved with added query filters, I can share if I’m asked).

I use Intuitive Custom Post Order now, it works good and is easy to use.

Recently updated to Wp 4.2.2, and it is still working for me….try my patched version listed in this thread.

If anyone still has an issue, I would ask you to ping me a debug.log file so I can try to see what is the issue. Currently using 4.3.1 and still working beautifully. I just posted a new version on the gitHub repo with various other bug fixes. See this new thread where I maintain the patched version updates.

The plugin still works after my update but for some funny reason it has switched from English to French! Any ideas why?

That’s strange. French is the default language when it does not find your installed WP language. The current version of english on this plugin is en_GB (UK english). I think the original author had a US english but which I don’t maintain myself.

What version of English do you use for your WP install?

You can either swap to en_GB if that doesn’t bother you too much, or you can use the .po files included in the plugin and create a proper translation for your version of English. You can then send me the file (vrata at syllogic.in) and I will include it in the GitHub repo for others to use.
