• Activating this plugin immediately killed my blog. Both admin and front end went down immediately and never came back until I finally ftp’d into the server and deleted the plugin files.

    Now my question is this:

Are the tables in the database that begin with wp_blc_ for this plugin? If so, I’ll delete those tables, since they obviously didn’t get deleted when I had to unceremoniously delete the plugin files via ftp. Anything else I should deal with to totally clean up?

Oh my god, I read your post (after waiting for the plugin to activate) and deleted instantly. Thanks for this.

Now. Back to dazzlindonna’s question. Can you answer please?

    still no reply?

From what I can see in the code (the file is core.php in the plugin), the tables will have “blc” in the name (no doubt for “broken link checker”). So, if your tables have the wp_ prefix, then the tables will be, as you suspected, wp_blc_. As a precautionary measure, ALWAYS backup your tables before touching them.

This is exactly what happened to me. I’m in the process of FTPing to delete the plugin files now. Keeping my fingers crossed!

My blog was “killed” as well, and I’m not sure why, but it’s just unresponsive while it checks all my links. My server processor isn’t being taxed, but when the links are finally all checked my blog works again. I hope the developer addresses this.
