I’m building a site for a youth group to use, and I want the simple features of the members are, photos, a calendar, forum, etc, but I already have some of these features. My question is does buddypress take over wordpress, or is it just another plugin that you configure?

@dpdesignz – BuddyPress takes over the site where it is activated – main site or secondary blog (if multisite is enabled) – in the sense that it aggregates all information posted by members via default components or via BP-specific plugins. YOu can still use a WordPress theme but you need to activate BP Template Pack so you can use and view BuddyPress components. Test drive BuddyPress at testbp.org
