[Plugin: BuddyPress Links] embedded on links

Does this plugin allow for all links to be embedded such as nytimes.com. wp.com espn.com amd any web site? I need a plug in that works with all links, just as the Facebook Wall works when you paste a link in: you see a thumbnail of the site and text….
