    With this plugin installed we are finding that we get the this timeout error quite often when using the Divi builder in that theme.

    It seems we were able to resolve the issue by adding the following in our .htaccess file:

    <IfModule mod_substitute.c>
    SubstituteMaxLineLength 10M
    </IfModule>

    Is this a known issue? Should this be necessary?

  • Hello,

    This ticket is arising out of a different ticket I opened up a few days ago, with the PayPal for Divi Plugin… Here is that ticket – https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/causing-divi-builder-in-backend-to-time-out/ – @amngelleye is the author/developer of that plugin…

    The code @angelleye posts above does not resolve the issue, and it may be that @angelleye has not yet looked broadly or deeply enough at this issue…

    I am not a php coder so this is only myself looking at this, perhaps from some distance, and also perhaps from a more hands-on perspective of experiencing the issue on a live site with many plugins installed, and going through a whole huge bunch of stuff in my efforts to narrow down and resolve the issue…

    Please see the other topic, linked to above, for more details and background on this issue…

    My interest is that I would like to keep using the PayPal for Divi plugin if I can, because it fits nicely a unique niche in the way it particularly works, on one site…

    Kind regards,
    John.

    hmmm…when we did our testing we were getting that issue randomly (without our plugin installed). When we applied the htaccess change we were not longer seeing the issue, but it’s possible that was just part of the randomness.

    Discussing with John the problem is now fixed, after some tweaks by the hosting (possibly some memory limitation?) Please correct me John if I’m wrong.

    No, the issue remains gone as I write… See the other thread (link above) and my reply to @angelleye for details…

    Thank you Dan and Simon so much for your willingness, time and attention to this…

    Kind regards,
    John.

    I believe we may have found the issue in our plugin, actually. The latest version of Divi did indeed make some changes that it looks like we need to adjust for. It’s a very random thing that made it difficult to troubleshoot. We’re doing some final testing and will release an update to our plugin soon.

    This is great, and wonderful to hear… And thank you so much for getting down into it…

    Kind regards,
    John.
