We are having an issue with our site…

When adding products to the basket (single units of different products) we are able to add 2 or 3 products, upon adding another product the cart will empty and just retain the 1 most recently added product. This happens on a mix of mobile and desktop browsers but can replicated consistently in Chrome, Incognito window.

We’ve changed to a default theme, no difference. We’ve deactivated all plugins apart from Woocommerce and the cart function returns to normal. We then reactivated plugins 1 by 1 however every time WooCommerce PayPal Payments is reactivated the error returns.

This is happening on of our 2 sites on different servers using different themes/plugins.

    Hello @jamesfts

Thank you for reaching out to us, we are here to help.

We have seen this issue a few times now, and it seems that this is caused by a mix of our plugin with other order related plugins (the main causing plugin we found to be a booking plugin, but it can also happen with variable products and other plugins).

We have isolated the cause of this issue and believe we have a fix available for resolving this issue. You can currently try the fix in our current beta release here, or wait for the official release that should occur next week (version 2.3.0).

Let me know if that helped you resolve the issue or if you require additional support.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Joost,

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I’ve moved onto the beta release which has fixed the issue with the cart which is great news!

Unfortunatly since implementing the fix we are no longer able to create variable products on the system. The when trying to generate the variations from the attributes the loading graphic appears but nothing happens. We also can’t save/change the status of existing variable products.

We can work around this by temporarily deactivating the PayPal gateway while adding stock but it’s far from ideal.

Any ideas on what the issue could be?

    Thanks

    James

    Hello James,

Thank you for trying this package and providing us with your feedback.

I have tried it as well, but am not running into the same issue as you are. When I have rc2 installed, I am still able to create new variable products and adjust the attributes for them. I would expect that this might be related to a conflict with a plugin that is used to generate the products or affects the attributes of it.

A quick fix would be to revert to 2.2.2 and disable the PayPal button that is shown on the product page. We believe that would be the quickest fix (however, you would lose the product page payment button).

Next to that, we would like to take a closer look at this issue. Could you share more details with us from your site; the system report, logs, images that show the issue, a .HAR file of the issue, etc.

If you don’t feel comfortable sharing those details on a public forum, please open a ticket with our service desk. You can find the instruction for this here: https://paypal.inpsyde.com/docs/request-support/
(please add the URL of this thread in the ticket as well)

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi @jamesfts

Thanks for sharing the details of the issue you encountered. There was a problem in the latest version that resulted in product variations potentially not saving under certain circumstances.

The team has prepared a new update to resolve this issue. Could you please give it a try with the plugin version from here and let us know how this works for you?: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-paypal-payments/releases/tag/2.3.1-rc1

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Hello @jamesfts

yesterday we released version 2.3.1 to resolve some issue and this seems to be resolving the issue you reported. Please update the plugin and let us know if the issue was resolved. I will mark this thread as resolved, but we will still receive your message when you send us one. It is also no problem is you open a new thread if you encounter this or any other issue.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Joost

We’ve got a client with a similar issue, been happening for 2-3 weeks now. We have 2.3.1 installed already and it’s still happening but it specifically seems to knock all the other items out of the cart when we encounter an out of stock item when the customer is browsing, then all items in the cart are cleared.

If you do update a release please let me know.

Just to update, deactivating the Paypal payments plugin stops this from occurring so definitely looking for an update or a workaround. Thanks

    Hello @volpagirl

Thank you for your message and YES, I am seeing that there was a 2nd ticket to get this resolved completely and this fix is already available in our current beta release for version 2.4.0 that is available here.

We are currently testing this beta version and hope to release the official version within 1 (or at worst 2) week(s). I already had some other merchants test this and got the confirmation that this resolved the issue for them.

Let me know if you have any more questions for us (however, it might be best to open a new thread if you do).

    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Joost,

Thanks for your ongoing support on this, just came on here to post regarding the issue coming back and found the above regarding the 2.4.0 release. Just installed and seems to have sorted the issue.

Thanks again, keep up the good work!

    Cheers,
    James

    Hi Joost

I’ve installed the beta and tested it and while it fixes the disappearing basket issue, it is now causing a conflict with Apple Pay validation which disappears if I deactivate the beta. I’ve left it as deactivated for now until a further roll out.

    Hello @@volpagirl

if you can share more details on this situation with us, that would be very beneficial for us and would possibly help us cover this (if we don’t already have a bug open for this). If you can open a private engagement and share all details of this issue, we can look into it and see if any action is needed on it.

However, Apple Pay is a new feature, so it is not that strange we are still finding issues and are still working hard on smoothening it out.

Thanks in any case for letting us know.

    Kind regards,
    Joost

Just popped all the details on now. Happy to help.

I found this thread because we are experiencing this problem now on our website (https://bluescreekguitars.com/) with items disappearing from the cart We have updated and are using version 2.4.1. Are other still experiencing the disappearing items problems even with the updates. Are there other updates coming or something else we can try. (We have checked by deactivating all other plug ins and the issue persists).

    Hello @debbietechforceonsite

This issue was resolved, so I think you are encountering another issue. This thread is closed, and you should not expect any new responses to be added to it.

You may want to perform a full conflict test to rule out eventual issues with the theme or a different plugin. We recommend temporarily activating the default theme Storefront and disabling all other plugins except for?WooCommerce and?PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists. Here’s a guide that explains the steps in more detail: How to test for conflicts.

If this does not show you any cause for the issue to occur, please open a new thread here or open a private engagement with us.

    Kind regards,
    Joost
