Plugin causes super slow login other issues 9 July 2015

    As of this evening, version 4.0.5 of your plugin started to cause issues with many of my websites. I have had to deactivate it in three (so far) in order to be able to log into wordpress admin and be able to work. Also caused web page loading issues that deactivating solved.

    Yet, some of sites are okay… as of yet.

  • I am facing the same since this morning. Deactiavting the plugin does make the site work normally.

    60sec+ initial load time, after that the site loads. Jetpack reports site down intermittently

    My IT team suggested I use WordFence https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wordfence/ or Bulletproof https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/bulletproof-security/A

    I have replaced Acunetix WP Security on one website with WordFence and WOW! What an improvement. Will be slowly replacing this plugin with one of the two recommended by my IT team until Acunetix WP Security is no longer on any of the websites I tend.

    Tech support for this plugin is becoming far to slack for my liking… and the rating for this plugin shows it.

    I used Acunetix and Wordfence on a lot of websites. I keep Acunetix for the settings list and Wordfence for scan and login protection.

    One of my website have a similar problem for a few days : big biiiig slow. I can login of the backoffice and work, but visiting the website became a nightmare. And online tools (PageSpeed, WooRanks, etc) didn’t work on this website : too slow for that !

    Deactivate Acunetix immediately solved the problem.
