I wrote up a simple little plugin to do some stuff with the custom meta values added on posts. The plugin works for what I want it to, except it completely screws up the admin page!

The problem is when the plugin is loaded, things like enabling and disabling plugins, logging out, editing posts, etc, all lead to a blank page. Most of the time (except logging out) the actions are fulfilled, it just never goes back to the page it is supposed to.

I’ve searched on here and saw some things with the pluggable-functions.php, dealing with IIS, but that seems to be fixed in my version of WP (not currently the newest version).

I have even gone so far as to comment out everything except the <?php at the beginning and the ?> at the end of the plugin, and I commented everywhere in my theme code where I call functions from the plugin, and it still gives me weird behavior.

ok so here is the solution:

plugins can’t have any whitespace after the “?>” at the end of file. wow.
