• Ok, so I am at a loss. I really don’t want to do this manually in phpMyAdmin incase future updates that the client will just install will screw something up, so I found this plugin which has a lot of features I can use…

I can add extra user fields and have them show up on the profile/reg page, and set the extra fields manually thru the “user extended” section. But the whole reason for doing this is so to import a csv file from the client with member information, including non-standard WP fields that I will be adding.

Unfortunately, from doing some testing – in Cimy User Manager – with just 1 extra field and trying to import a CSV file with 3 members with the extra fields having values as well, this doesn’t work. The script gives an error of “” field doesn’t exist (line 2)”

I’m guessing this has something to do with the fact that the Cimy UEF plugin saves the extra user fields in a different table, but from emailing the plugin creator, he stated that either:

1: “basically you are trying to change the email that is already found and then drops every modification for next columns. Solution: do not add email column if you want to modify existing users, only for new users.”

or when simply trying to import a file of completely new users I get the same error above, to which he replied…

2: “The number of columns in the header is greater than ones in the row: 15 vs 14 that’s why!”

But here is my dilema, I counted the header columns and for the info I have, they are exactly the same, so I’m not sure where the 15 vs 14 domes from…

Here is the CSV file contents I amd trying to import:

    % USERID %,% USERNAME %,% ROLE %,% FIRSTNAME %,% LASTNAME %,% NICKNAME %,% DISPLAYNAME %,% EMAIL %,% WEBSITE %,% AIM %,% YAHOO %,% JABBER %,% DESCRIPTION %,% REGISTERED %,DEPARTMENT

Any help is greatly appreciated from anyone that has actually GOT this to work, including the importing of extra field data. Thanks!
