[Plugin: Collapsing Categories] Wrapping / Column Width Problem

I’ve never used that, but looking at the source code, check to see if the expand { class in the CSS also has an expand a { and if it is set to display:block… if so, it will make a link stretch the length of its parent and forces the count onto the next line.
