• I see this in my logs

2013-11-30 15:20:07 WordPress logged out from My Site

So I deactivated all plugins in an attempt to find out which was causing the error below:

Your session has expired because it has been over 60 minutes since your last login. Please log back in to continue.

So, one plugin logs in, doesn’t log out. InfiniteWP scans my site but gets the expired error and can’t login. The ONLY two plugins I didn’t deactivate were yours and InfiniteWP. This would appear to mean your script is causing this error on four sites.

BUT … you are active on EIGHT sites… so it isn’t you. I’m stuck on how to find out which script leaves that message and which isn’t logging out.

Hello SickSquirrel have you enabled the following option

WP Security >> User Login >> Login Lockdown >> Enable Login Lockdown Feature: >> Time Length of Lockout (min): 60?

No. Mine is set for 600. Therein lies the problem? 60 is the correct setting? Or 30? Once you respond I’ll be busy editing sites for an hour sor so ??

I’m thinking hard on this. Ten hours versus half or full hour. I bet this is the plugin creating havoc on four sites. Now I’m curious what setting the rest have. Off to check…

One site was set for 6000!!

All edited. Tomorrow we will see. My fingers are crossed!!

    Thank you!!

That log is caused by the “Force Logout” feature.
I think the setting you may be looking for is in the “Force Logout” tab of the “User Login” menu.

Ok, that didn’t work. I edited two sites’ Force Logout. On was not checked BUT the other was for 60. I changed it to 30. IF this fixes it, I’ll edit the other sites.

You know, that can’t be it. I changed the setting, just went to one site to see the Session expired error. So the error shows up when your script logs me out but on four sites only. Why would your script toss out that on some sites but not all?

Hello SickSquirrel what are the difference between the sites the plugins works and the sites the plugin does not work?

    Thread Starter SickSquirrel

    (@sicksquirrel)

    Hm, let’s see

Doesn’t work on 1 chat forum (WordPress with Members and BBPress plugins), 1 site with blog as a cover, and InfiniteWP in the background plus 2 blogs.

    Works on 4 blogs

So it works and doesn’t work on plain old blogs. Why it logs out from some and not from others is crazy. But something is very wrong.

    (@sicksquirrel)

Your session has expired because it has been over 60 minutes since your last login. Please log back in to continue.

Used to be 4 were fine, 4 gave that error. Just checked IWP and now 5/8 are reporting the error.

So changing the Force Logout setting caused another site to err.

This is REALLY frustrating. I’m going to turn off Lockdown AND Lockout on one site to see if it causes the error. Tomorrow at this time I’ll post results.

    Thread Starter SickSquirrel

    (@sicksquirrel)

    It solved it ??

So now I’ll try another and see the result.

Hello SickSquirrel, I am happy to hear that you are resolving your issue. Thank you for keeping us posted.

    Kind regards

I plan on one site at a time. Just odd this issue int on every site. The two things I shut off shouldn’t affect my sites but I’ll keep an eye on them. If this fixes this site, I’ll move to another . For now it’s a workaround until you and the IWP people work it out,

Hello SickSquirrel could you please start a new support thread. This would help others to assist you better.

    Kind regards.

New thread if it doesn’t fix it? Or if it did? ( just checked but won’t post the answer!). Or do you mean if turning those off then how do I lockdown/out hackers?

Sorry SickSquirrel my apologies, I must of being thinking of another thread with another user.

    Sorry.
