    Hello,
    is the new update of this plugin is only work with wordpress version 4.9.1
    what about the earlier versions?

    Hi,

    thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

    This is correct. The new TablePress version 1.9 only works with WordPress 4.9.1.
    If you use an older version of WordPress (I always recommend to update), you will have to use the older TablePress 1.8.1.

    Hi,

    the main reason is that TablePress now uses the new CodeMirror functionality that comes with WordPress 4.9, for syntax highlightling and code linting for the “Custom CSS”.
    In addition, I was able to clean the TablePress code base as WordPress now has some other functions built-in. This makes the TablePress code more lightweight and there are fewer chances for bugs in the code.

    Hello,
    you are right from your way but what to do if users are running with the previous version of Wp. Sometimes users can not move to Wp 4.9.1 due to some compatibility issue.

    then users should try to solve the compatibility issues ?? The earlier one does this, the easier updates will be in the future.

    The problem for me as a developer (who is offering all this for free!) simply is that I don’t have the time to always check and test with old versions as well, which is why sometimes I just have to raise the prerequisites.

    Note that you don’t have to use TablePress 1.9 immediately. The older versions still work fine (on older version of WordPress).

    The older version of wordpress can not get the update notification of Tablepress 1.9
    maybe the older version work fine with TablePress 1.9

    correct, older version will not get the update notification.

    Older versions of WordPress will not work with TablePress 1.9. Sorry.

    Hi,

    yes, you can stay with TablePress 1.8.1 on WordPress 4.7.x and WordPress 4.8.x.
