It means exactly what it says –
you have provided URL to KML file which is invalid.

Many thanks Alex for the support. I’m new to all this so didn’t know what KML is.

I read the post and I am trying to find the right URL by looking for the ‘little link “KML” or click in the little blue Google Earth square icon’ but I don’t have it on my map.. I’m sure there is a valid reason for this?

I am not entirely sure why you don’t have these options…. Perhaps this is something you build in Google Earth? I have never done this before, so I cannot comment ??
