Hey Jeff, I seem to have run into a conflict with another plugin – Rotating Tweets by Martin Todd

When I deactivate it, your plugin works great.

I figure since I had his working first, I should go to you ??

    Chrome console is telling me:

Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function rotating_tweet.js?ver=3.9.1:259
    (anonymous function) rotating_tweet.js?ver=3.9.1:259
    j jquery.js?ver=1.11.0:2
    k.fireWith jquery.js?ver=1.11.0:2
    n.extend.ready jquery.js?ver=1.11.0:2
    K

    Something on js line 259?

    Any ideas on a fix?

A few things, and I hope this doesn’t come off a arrogant or cocky or whatever.

That javascript issue is from that other plugin. Most of the time when there is a javascript issue it will kill the rest of the javascript on the page. Which is why hms-testimonials stops working when you activate this plugin.

Do the tweets rotate when you have this other plugin activated?

The two plug-ins play together quite happily together on my test site – and HMS Testimonials follows good WordPress standards for enqueueing its JavaScript (which can often be a problem) – although I haven’t had a chance to check the JavaScript itself.

The code that’s breaking relates to one of the Tweet formats (I think it’s number 2), so the problem may go away if you switch to another format.

Alternatively, what happens if you switch the version of the jQuery.cycle script on the Rotating Tweets setting from 1 to 2 – or 2 to 1? Does that let them play nicely together?

Otherwise, something is making jQuery behave strangely and it may be time to dive into the HMS Testimonials JavaScript.

    Hey Martin,

Thanks for popping in on here. I am definitely interested to see if something in HMS Testimonials is causing the issue with your plugin.

@bmilliot, please keep me updated on your issue.

If I can find some free time to play with both plugins this weekend I plan on doing so.

    Thank you Martin and Jeff.

    Issue resolved!

    Rotating Tweets JavaScript Settings:

Version of JavaScript Cycle: Version 1 (default)
Where to load Rotating Tweets JavaScript: Load in Footer.

Thank you and I’m very fortunate to be dealing with two very professional Plugin developers!
