  • There was an issue with the plugin affecting sidebar widgets which was fixed in 5.9.1. so rolling back to an older version may cause other problems.

I’ve just installed the plugin and it’s all working fine in a sidebar. What problems are you getting?

My problem is that testimonials don’t show when I have updated both plugins along with wp4.0

For example this page says “none found”
    https://julespilates.com/about/

And the testimonial page is blank
    https://julespilates.com/nice-words/

And on another site where I updated testimonials widget plugin and did not update QEM, testimonials still display just fine.

There is some kind of conflict.

I’ve been testing this for a few days now and can’t replicate the problem.

I now see the testimonials and the events on your site, how did you fix it?

I didn’t know you would be working on it so I rolled QEM back to 5.7.1.

I’m glad you see that testimonials are working ok.

I will updated QEM and you will see testimonials in the sidebar and testimonials page will be broken.

    Thanks!

    ok 5.9 is now installed

5.9.1 should fix the sidebar bug. The problem is to do with how plugin use wordpress queries. I’ve tested the plugin with the testimonials plugin and it works OK.

    Example here: https://testblog.co.uk/events-list/

Thanks for working on this, aerin. Your test is indeed is working, but after the update to 5.9.1. testimonials are still not working on https://julespilates.com/nice-words/ (“none found”) or in the sidebar of https://julespilates.com/new-clients/ (blank)

and when I deactivate Quick events manager the testimonials work.

Were there any settings for either plugin that are required to get it to work? Your test site has the same 5.9.1 code?

Any other advice as to what to try?

I’m not sure what to suggest next. With both installed to the latest version it works on my test site. I’ve also tried on a clean WP install with just these two plugins and the default settings. Everything is OK.

The none found usually indicates a problem with the database query. The event plugin did cause a conflict but that has now been fixed. Have you tried turning all other plugins off and changing to the 2014 theme.

Or set up a subdomain, install wordpress and the two plugins and see what happens.

I appreciate what you are saying but today I had to roll it back to 5.7.1 because I won’t be able to work on it again until next week.

5.7.1 is working fine. Go figure.

This is resolved. In addition to the changes you made (now using 5.10) the testimonials-widget author did a reset of some things.

    Once again, thank you!
