Plugin conflict with wpMandrill

We have just updated to version 5.0.2 and we receive the following error on activating the plugin:
Mandrill: wp_mail has been declared by another process or plugin, so you won't be able to use Mandrill until the problem is solved.We require wpMandrill so have reverted to version 4.3.5. Is this something that can be investigated and amended?
