• Out of the blue Contact Form 7 stopped working. I found this problem on the developers FAQ site with the instruction to deactivate all other plugins and go back to a default theme from WordPress.

    1) I am using a default WP Theme
    2) I deactivated all other plugins … still not working

Even if it would have worked, this is not a satisfying solution. Am I expected to keep all plugins turned off, just so I can use the Contact Form 7? I have been using this plugin for almost a year now and it was working great. Now it is not working anymore and I feel that the answer on the developers FAQ page is leaving everybody hanging 2 inches above ground with a rope around their neck.

Anybody any ideas how to fix that?

    Thanks

So why not find out the cause of the problem by other methods? For example, checking your server log? Anyway, you should contact your host’s support or server administrator first. Something must have been changed.

I am having the same problem – forms on two sites stopped working 5 weeks ago. Fixed one (WP 3.2.1 / twenty ten) using configure-smtp.3.1 plugin. Contacted webafrica support and they gave me a new smtp host string in place of the defaault localhost.

The other site is a WP3.3.1 running Thesis theme. Configure-smtp.3.1 does not solve the problem yet – but it may be because it may not be compatible with WP 3.3.1

Now trying to find the smtp string in the bowels of the ship. I don’t know where to look. Tried searching for wp_mail in pluggable .php – no joy.

    Any help would be welcome.

Takayuki Miyoshi … first I want to say that I appreciate you taking the time to answer to my post. That said I have to day that you provide absolute ZERO customer support. I understand that your plugin is for free, but so are hundreds of others and they take the time and help people if they have a problem with their plugin and don’t wash them off by saying check your provider.

Speaking about provider. I have my own server and I am my provider and I did not change anything on my server to cause a problem within your plugin. In my opinion this is a lazy way of getting rid of me. Well I will have to look for some other plugin and warn others to use your plugin. I actually really liked your plugin. It is simple, functional and does what it is supposed to do, well did … not anymore.

I am not the only one who has that problem, there are more people complaining about this problem. So maybe spend some time and do your research before washing the problem off on others. I am a developer myself and before I blame somebody else, I make sure the problem is not on my part. Otherwise I would make a fool of myself and probably don’t have a job anymore.

So thank you for nothing and I wish you all the best.

Well I guess that’s all the customer support we will get out of this developer. Great job. Guess I have to find a new plugin to replace Contact Form 7.

yes this is sad.. I am wondering if it has to do with a js file conflict … even with all plugins off and default theme I can not get it to work on a specific install…
But on the same server on another install it works

I copy over the files and it still does not work

I reverted back to 1.3 and 1.4 of RSC

    I turned off captcha
    I … gees i think i did about everything

No logs no error just no redirection after pressing submit.

If all the form info is correct the Email will send
If something is wrong then the user never gets an alert
If the email sends there is no thankyou

IDK it is very strange because even going back to an older version makes it choke…

i will take another look around tomorrow but …
    it is very weird
