• Hi Guys,

Please be gentle as I am new to this forum. I was hoping that someone would be able to help me.

I have a problem with a contact form on a website, when i click submit, its won’t send, and then gives me the following error –

“Failed : some issue occur while sending your message”

I’m not sure where to start with this one.

Any advice would be huuuuuugely appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Rich.

  • I’m having the same problem. Installed Flamingo to save the messages in wordpress directly.

    Any help will be appreciated.

It doesn’t work with yahoo either.

    Any advice?

Some hosting environments require the “From” address to match the website domain. In Contact Form 7, in the “Mail” section, try changing “From: [your-name] <[your-email]>” to “From: [email protected]”.

I change the “Form” in my site and it is working.

    Thanks mikedev.

Another solution is to install the “WP-Mail-SMTP” plugin, activate it and then go to Settings > Email and input your settings. For Mailer setting I chose PHP instead of SMTP. SMTP tries to send internally which won’t work when MX records are set off site like for Gmail and Google Apps. The rest of the settings are not needed as it states in the settings page. Run a test email and see if it goes through now.

mikedev – this worked a treat for me – thanks!

i built a site on wordpress, including contact form 7, (all parts of the site are new and fully compatible) on another server (apache). when completely tested and 100% functional i migrated it to the clients hosting with godaddy (originally for some reason windows…now fully on ssl linux)
now, when sending an email through contact form 7; yahoo works, outlook works….but gmail and hotmail dont!!….i have only tested those four systems but seeing as they all worked flawlessly on the server i built the site on it’s obviously something on the godaddy end. i have also got a third party with a gmail account unconnected to the site to attempt and it fails as well.
any suggestions please. it is the most popular contact form and is, as a result, the most likely to be kept up to date and survive. hence i want to use it rather than change it.

the contact form is at: https://villamichaela.com/enquiries/

    cheers

Did you try any of the suggestions in this thread?

i saw that you made a suggestion with “WP-Mail-SMTP”….do you think that will work with the godaddy (linux) servers??

also will the below work if you dont actually have an email account with the host?

If you have it working now then you won’t need the other plugin. However, I forgot to recommend that you install CF7 to db plugin. This way all submissions will be stored in the db even if the email isn’t generating. No more lost forms.

cheers…i ll try them all and hopefully something will work….godaddy arent the most helpful; they seem to just want to sell things!!

I tried this “Some hosting environments …”.without an account with the host and it worked.
But I’m not hosting in godaddy.
I would also recommend installing “flamingo” to keep it safe.

    hi. cheers!!…worked a treat
