[Plugin: Contact Form 7] Edit/modify auto-responder email message

  • I’m interested in editing the generic auto-responder email message that people receive after they submit the form. I’m not sure where can I find this part and edit the generic message into something I want to use. I even checked the FAQ and Docs to no avail. Nowhere can I find the information how to edit or modify auto-responder email. I tried to look for it but couldn’t find it anywhere unless I overlooked something. This is a great plugin and want to continue supporting it. Thanks.

    Setting Up Mail

    Check Use Mail (2) box and edit its fields like you do in the Mail section above it.

    The Mail (2) can be used for other purposes besides auto-responder.

    Thanks for your quick response. I realized that I didn’t mean the auto responder emails sent to the site owner based on your response above, but setting up an auto responder email for visitors to receive after submitting their message. Is it possible to set it up or do I need to use additional piece of code or add on plugin? Thanks.

    Yes. Simply put the visitor’s email address into the To field in the Mail (2).

    All right. I will use Mail (2) for this set up. What mail tag do I need to put in To field? [your-email]? I wasn’t sure because I don’t want to use site owner’s email address but to show anyone’s email once they submit the form and then they are the ones to get this auto-responder email. Thanks again.

    [your-email] is good for the To field in Mail (2) if you are using [email your-email ...] in your form.
