[Plugin: Contact Form 7] mail address behaves odd in HTML mode

I changed only one thing, turned on HTML mode, and the
<[your-email]> tag become not visible in body.
I changed it to [your-email]. This way the address was visible, but not working as a mail (link).
It this the was it has to work? Or it is a bug?
