• Is there a way to do a Multi-page form using Contact Form 7. I did a google and cannot find anything.
I have a client who wants the first part filled in and submitted then the next page submitted.
Was hoping it supported Multi Page forms but I don’t see any info.

  • Few realize this, but multipage forms are a huge big deal. You get into fun stuff like sessions programming, cookies, and other things that no non-geek can handle. Think about validating every field across all pages, being able to return to any page without losing stuff, and retaining all form data from all pages before submitting, and then you’ll have a tiny sense of how “fun” that is. So I don’t see it happening in Contact Form 7 anytime soon.

I’ve investigated this in several systems that I use, and found nothing simple. So if I needed multipage forms, I would use something commercial, and save myself weeks of misery programming and fumbling, something like one of these:

    https://phpforms.net/
    https://www.formboss.net/

Or I would use a one-page monster form, and maybe JQuery it to make it act like a multipage, but that’s a big deal, too, and no, no plugins for that.

I see that Contact Form 7 has reached the “sweet spot” of popularity where people want hundreds more features, and all for free. Ouch. ?? I have donated to the developer, by the way, and I hope others do.

Exactly, flamenco. You are one of the few people who really know how plugin developers feel.

I believe I should keep Contact Form 7 simple for ever, as most of users like its simpleness.

    Takayuki,
You’re the greatest, plain and simple. And I definitely like the simple approach… I figure there’s a much greater chance of compatibility with any hosting or theme, and much less chance of bugs.

Because I’m very handy with CSS, I can easily alter the appearance of a form. So it’s really ideal for me… I have reliable functionality, simplicity, yet good control. And if I want validation (which generally I don’t need), I could always throw in Javascript validation without harming any form functionality.

It’s human nature for people to want free stuff, and there are more WP newbies than ever these days. So I guess having a thick skin is part of being an open-source developer these days. ??

Thanks again for your excellent work,
    Dave

But I think it can be done through a simple trick.
Set next form to the first form’s thank you page(Read Here). With the help of this you can add too many forms.
