  • If your host gives you access to configure your email (my host uses cPanel X), you should be able to set this up scenario up. In my case in the cPanel admin, under the “Email” settings, there is something called “BoxTrapper”.

In there you can see all of your email accounts and then choose to enable the BoxTrapper. Once it’s enabled you can mange the settings, including “Edit Confirmation Messages”. I set it up so users receive an email that says that I won’t receive their email until they click the provided link to verify they really are “real” (I make light of the situation saying we all hate spam…). As soon as they click the link it automatically whitelists them and sends their original email through.

Hopefully this works for you until (if ever) this feature becomes available (I probably wouldn’t count on it – but coding isn’t my strong suite, so I don’t how easy it would be to do this).
