[Plugin: Contact Form 7] Spam Problem

  • I’ve run the site in question for over two years and only yesterday started getting a lot of spam via the contact form (I’ve had the same forms up since the start).

    I tried putting adding the captcha code, which works when I test it but I’m still getting these spam emails.

    I’ve also set two field as required. When I receive these spam emails that come from the form, the two required fields are not included in the information.

    Does anyone have any tips on how to stop this ?

  • I started having that same problem today, so I installed the plugin “Contact Form 7 Honeypot” and it seems to have done the trick.

    One thing I will note about the honeypot field on the form, is that I had to wrap it in <div style="visibility: none;"> tags to remove the space it was taking up.
