    Howdy,

I admin a website for a Talent Agency that leans heavily on web based responses for lead generation for auditions in Western Washington and up and down the West Coast.

As of today, this has started appearing in the site URL after press of Submit – wpcf7-f54-t1-o1. Again, this is a new issue as of today.

I’ve disabled and enabled all of the site’s plugins, validated my HTML/CSS, double checked my PHP to ensure everything is closed properly and the issue still exists. An additional issue is that on refresh, the contact form resends the form response.

    Site: https://www.seattletalent.net/auditions/

Please note that I am still working to style the CSS behind the AJAX messages (which have never worked properly on any site where this plugin has been implemented).

I am also running this form on three other sites and this issue is specific to this site. Not one of the other three have this issue.

    Thanks in advance.

Probably your theme’s issue. More specifically, one of the javascripts that the theme loads is making Contact Form 7’s javascript unable to work.

    Hi Takayuki,

There is no JavaScript being called by the theme outside of the few plugins I am using on this site. As mentioned in my initial post these plugins have been disabled, tested, enabled incrementally, and the site tested again. This error occurs regardless of the plugins that are enabled/disabled.

Any assistance here is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

Bumping this as it continues to be an issue.

What’s happened with the most recent update is that on submit, the redirect the the Thank You page no longer works. I inserted a Thank You page specifically for the reason that the AJAX messages that appear on click of submit appear behind the actual contact form.

On click of submit, “#wpcf7-f74-t1-o1” is still appended to the page’s URL.

I need to resolve this today, so any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    TM

    Hi Takayuki,

I’ve read that FAQ. The HTML is valid, the plugins disabled and activated incrementally and yet the error is still present. With all plugins disabled, the error is still present. The theme isn’t calling any JS (Colorway theme with the slideshow disabled), so I don’t at all see what the problem is and why it persists. The only small script that’s being called by the theme is IE 9 specific and shouldn’t affect Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc… so I don’t believe the conflict lives there either.

Are we considering this a 404 error when “#wpcf7-f74-t1-o1” is appended to the end of any given URL after click of submit?

I’m running your plugin on roughly 6 different sites. One of which is also running a modified version of the Colorway theme and there’s no conflict there.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

I am also now having the exact same problem since updating both WordPress and Contact Form 7 to the latest versions. Contact Form 7 was running fine for several months, but is now is adding “#wpcf7-f477-p235-o1” to the address after successful submission.

If you manage to work out a solution for this I would be very grateful, thanks

    Takayuki,

In 9 times out of 10, do you think this is a problem with CF7 or with conflicting plugins or themes or something in the WordPress updates or …?

My problem was with jquery code that was being used, I downloaded a newer version and that seemed to solve the my problem.

    (@adsoink)

@ewencameron1 – downloaded a new version of CF7? Where were you seeing the JQuery errors? Any specific plugins?

I’m not good with code, a complete beginner really. The site in question uses a custom WP theme which was made for me. I tracked the problem down to a ‘js’ folder which was in my theme folder.

Inside the ‘js’ folder are several different .js files used by various plug-ins. I just downloaded a newer version ‘jQuery v1.7.1’. I decided to take out one at a time to see what happened.

I then replaced the ‘jquery.js’ file with a newer version which I downloaded from the Jquery website which was ver1.7.1.

I now no longer get the added extra bits on the web address when submitting and it all seems to work ok.

    (@adsoink)

@ewencameron1 – Just tried both 1.7.1 as well as 1.7.2 and no dice. I’m still seeing “#wpcf7-f477-p235-o1” appended to the URL.

@takayuki – Any thoughts on this error being related to a 404? Is there a chance the contact form isn’t refreshing the page because it doesn’t know what page to go back to? Is there a secondary method for inserting a redirect? I’ve followed your instructions in the FAQ to the letter and a simple redirect to a Thank You page also fails. I’m also unable to “hide” the appended bit of noise via .htaccess (i.e. 301 redirect).

As previously mentioned, all plugins have been disabled and the theme isn’t doing anything dynamic on the client side; it’s all the PHP queries pulling content from the database. I do have CF7 running on another site with a modified version of the ColorWay theme (the theme I’m working with on the site where I’m seeing the noise in the URL) with no issue.

I was going to try and move the client to Gravity Forms just for this one site, but they’re not in a place to look at a paid solution. This error is causing some confusion for users, so any fix or further suggestions are wonderful.

    Thanks in advance.

    Conflicts with other JavaScript

Many plugins and themes load their own JavaScript. Some of them may have been created incorrectly and therefore conflict with other plugins. In most cases, you can find JavaScript errors with Firebug, an add-on for Firefox, when such conflicts occur.

You can easily find JavaScript errors with Firebug.

    Thread Starter adsoink

    (@adsoink)

    Firebug doesn’t show any errors.

Just put together a dev version of the site that’s experiencing the issue. Using the default theme and no other plugin that CF7. The error persists.

    Thoughts?
