Just as a slight update…when I check the option “Show With All Post” They do appear…I’m not sure if I am supposed to do that. or what the results would be if I select that option for all my sidebars, that are category based.

Another update, I notice the problem when I check a Page and a category, for the sidebar.

If I do not select a page, then the sidebar will show up with the categories, and posts within that category.

Is there a way to select, Category, Page, and have the sidebar show up, for posts? Other than selecting “show with all posts”?

Sorry for all the msgs in a row, I thought I would just keep everyone updated on my progress.

I know that the documentation for the plugin is quite bad, but it’s nice to see you play around with it.

The thing is that all selected rules will be dependent on each other (if the content allow it). Therefore, the reason your sidebar didn’t show up with your first settings, is:

You want the sidebar to be shown with a page that contains some categories – this rule can only be fulfilled on pages, because pages (normally) don’t support categories, and the categories will therefore be neglected.

Your second choice of settings was correct, as:

You want the plugin to be shown with a page and all posts that contain some categories.

If this is not what you want, please tell me where you want the sidebar to show up, and I’ll (hopefully) make it happen.

Hey thanks for the reply. The plugin is excellent! The 2nd option is pretty much what I am looking for.

So it will basically satisfy the condition, if post_in_category.

Thanks for getting back so quickly. I can proceed now. Cheers!

Yes, it will satisfy that condition. If you don’t want it to show up on archive pages, just set Exposure: Singular.

I’m not sure if the selected rules can appear in an archive page though, but better to be sure.

I think I have a similar problem. I would like to associate my sidebar to all posts belonging to a specific category. i tried to select the sepcific category in the sidebar settings but the sidebar didn’t show up?
