    Yes, you can do this.
    1. You would have to have Content Scheduler plugin activated.
    2. For each Post or Page you want to expire, you will need to set two custom fields:
    a. _cs-enable-schedule (This must be set to “Enable”)
    b. _cs-expire-date (This must be set to a date/time string in the format of 2011-04-24 20:58:00, that is YYYY-MO-DA HH:MM:SS)

FYI, the underscore (_) at the beginning of the field names makes them NOT show up in the custom field editor on your Post Edit page, so you won’t be able to see their values in the custom fields box — you’ll have to see them in the Content Scheduler box.

    I hope this helps,
    Paul K

    Hi Techouse,
I’m not sure exactly what you need, but there is of course the CS option to “Delete” content instead of applying changes to it upon expiration.
But, it doesn’t empty trash, though.
Anyway, glad you’re happy with the change!
    Happy holidays,
    Paul

Yea, I don’t want them deleted instantly. Just trashed ??

    Hi,

I’m looking for solution to just have them unlinked from all categories/taxonomies and tags so they can stay in archives for SEO purposes.

Perfect would be if they would get “EXPIRED” tag and added word at the beginning of the title…

    Any Ideas?

I will post this suggestion to their plugin, hope it will be possible in future…

    Thanks,
    Mike

Another thing that I would like to do is to input the default time to be allays “today date” and “custom future time”.. the reason is that I use import posts, and I would setup to update that custom field every time, so when the post disappears from datafeed it gets expired on my site on todays date, future time (just after update cron for example)..
I actually need to know what would be the value that the update feed would have to insert to prolong the expiration for one more day or until next update…

    Thanks,
    Mike

please ignore the comment before the last one… too fast ??

    Hi,

I have a problem regarding default expiration time + import posts.

I set default expiration time to 1 week on the setting page, then when I set import rules I set custom field: _cs-enable-schedule value: “Enable”, and it works, it does enable the expiration.

But when I look at the time of expiration it show “INVALID”, even the whole site crashes being viewed in chrome, but in Firefox it works.. strange..

    Please advice me.

    Thanks
