    Caldera Version 1.9.4

    Hi,

    I am testing my websites locally with PHP 8 and am receiving virtually the same error message as above;

    Error thrown
    Failed opening required ‘D:\xampp\htdocs\parkers\wp-content\plugins\caldera-forms\vendor\symfony\polyfill-mbstring/bootstrap80.php’ (include_path=’D:\xampp\php\PEAR’)

    This happens on all of my websites that have Caldera Forms installed.

    I have tried deactivating all other plugins, I have also changed themes, all to no avail.

    Looking at support for Caldera Forms it seems that you are no longer actively maintaining this plugin.

    Could you please put our minds at rest, one way or the other by replying to this thread and letting us know what is happening.

    I for one do not wish to see the demise of Caldera Forms as I think it is one of the best form makers available to WordPress.

    Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Hey Bob

    Yeah seems to be a mix of PHP8 + WP 5.7 that throws the error. Rolling back to PHP7.x sorted it but Caldera is going to have to check it out further.

    Hi Jarryd,

    I have just tried the latest Beta, download from here;

    https://github.com/CalderaWP/Caldera-Forms/releases/tag/1.9.5-b1

    This seems to have resolved the issue, however I have not yet fully tested it.

    Regards

    Bob

    For the moment Caldera is not compatible with PHP8.
    Waiting for developer to woke up.

    I have the same problem. I am also waiting when you add support of php8.

    Yes, I have the same error when using php 8. Switching to a lower version of php fixed it. I’m also waiting for it to be compatible with php 8.

    This thread has in reality been stale for four months, so I’m closing it. If anyone has a similar question, then please open a new topic instead.
