Open your dev tools, look for the ajax/xhr call section, there should be an entry there called “api”. Click on it and check the request headers that are being sent.

What is the value of the header named “wplv-path”?

Is the value of the header the same as the name of your sub directory?

Ok my bad, I used Instant WordPress for local development, it is told on the website that it runs 5.4 but it is infact 5.3. =/
