[Plugin: Custom Post Widget] How to display in full width footer widget

I’m trying to find an easy way to create and manage a sponsors section across the bottom displayed across full page. I have a footer widget with width set to 100% however the content block only displays to post width for a page set with sidebars. Is there a way to increase width to full page? Otherwise, it appears that this widget may satisfy my needs.
