[Plugin: custom tables] Custom Tables and MU

  • Hi Stefan,
    Could you do a modification so that your plugin works with Multisite.

    As it is now (at least for me) it crash. I don’t know if it is because you enable the plugin in “Network admin” and the move to “another” URL for using it. Even when just using the “free” first part and try to create it can’t do that, you get a message:

    Forbidden
    You don’t have permission to access /osvs/wp-admin/admin.php on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    If you try that 3 times your site will go dead and need to contact your host to unlock because they see it as a treat. When I asked the to explain they say this: The mod_security found text ‘varchar’ under that plugins script and it detecting it as ‘SQL Injection’.

    And more info from my hosting company:

    Your plugin seems to have everything that I need (premium choices) so I will be very hapy to buy the premium but it must work on MU-sites.

    My plugin is working on MU (there is only one problem with activating premium content if no license is avaialble), but MU works.

    Main problem here:

    As you can see here: modsec_rules/10_asl_rules.conf

    This is a Apache2 Module and a generic protection rule. This rule tries to find whenever a user try to manipulate a table.
    My plugin will CREATE, EDIT, CHANGE tables!

    So this protection rule, see my plugin change a table and blocks it.

    Thats not a problem of my plugin, more of your hoster. Ask your hoster to disable this specific rule for your site.

    Thanks Stefan for your quick reply.

    I have contacted my hosting company GVO and asked them to change the rule for that site. Your plugin have so many parts that I havnt found on other plugin and I have looked through and tested many so I hope they can change the settings otherwise I will see if I move.

    Mo problem is that I have nearly 50 domains with them and I try to have all at only one host.

    Still have some problem. It dosnt matter if I log in to MU site as network admin or normal admin I still am not allowed to create a table.
    This is the message I receive everytime:

    Known problem, is solved in the next version which is in testing.

    Sounds great Stefan,

    I am near a deadline for presenting. Is there a way that I can (or you) make the modification so that I can get my beta-site ready.

    It’s really in a rush. I will also buy the Premium since those parts are vital for the site.
