[Plugin: Dave's WordPress Live Search] 2.02 Crashes IE6

    It seems IE6 crashes when 2.02 is loaded. Works for the MU install on all other browsers great though but it crashes on load of IE6. I have to support it since I work for a University. Don’t know if there is a quick way around it or if there is a way just to disable it from loading when IE6 starts but it freezes the browser on start instantly.

    I can’t reproduce this. I’m running 6.0.2600.0000.xpclient.010817-1148 (I will never feel guilty about a three-part version number again). Is the issue maybe limited to a specific build of IE6?

    You might also want to try the latest dev version at https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/daves-wordpress-live-search.zip — it uses a different mechanism to load the Javascript and CSS. I’m not entirely sure why this would solve the problem, but it’s worth a shot.

    The same issue here, but with IE7.
    The browser freezes when Live Search is initiated.

    I think it is an issue with older IE’s conflicting with other jquery plugins because it doesn’t seem to do it in the default theme with all plugins disabled. Oh how I hate IE.
