Plugin deactivated after activation

I have the WPS hide login plugin installed, when I go to look at installed plugins it shows as disabled, so I click the view details link which opens a new screen and I click activate. However nothing changes, it remains deactivated and the new options don’t appear at the bottom of the settings form.

If I look at the JetPack activity log I see two entries with the same timestamp one to activate the plugin (as a result of me clicking activate) and then straight after it one to deactivate the plugin, but I have no idea of what is doing this deactivation.

After the first activation I was able to setup a new URL but this only worked for long enough for me to test and ever since I’ve not been able to get it to stay activated.

Presumably something is causing it to deactivate all on its own, any ideas what?
