    Guys,

There was an update for this plugin via my dashboard, so I did update it. But after the update I got this message: “The plugin all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall/wp-security. php is disabled due to an error: plugin file does not exist.”

Now the plugin is deleted. This happened me also before, but now I’m sure I did NOT delete it. It deletes itself completely, also al files and his folders…

Has anyone an idea why it is doing this and what should I do?

    Sef.

Ho Sef, no one has reported this issue as far as I can tell. Have you been able to install the plugin again? Do you know if your site has been hacked or compromised?

This would probably happen when you previously had renamed the plugin folder but then perhaps you did not name it back to its original name.

The plugin folder name should be:
    all-in-one-wp-security-and-firewall

If it isn’t then rename it manually to the above.

@sef I am sorry but I meant to type Hi and not Ho I realized once it was too late to edit the text.

    Hi,

    No problem mbrsolution ??

I did not change the plugin name. I did reinstall the plugin after the error. It is working now again, but this happened 2x. So, it will happen again. It’s scary, because it deletes itself, so you don’t know you are NOT protected with the tools of the plugin…

@just Here it could be a server configuration.

    Hi mbrsolution,

What do you mean by a server configuration?

Your server might delete the plugin folder. The plugin does not delete itself. I have yet hear someone report this. The other suggestion is that your site might be hacked.

    Hi mbrsolution,

I’ve running another website. I just logged into my WP and saw the same message! Again, the plugin doesn’t exist, also here…

What should I do? Should I change my passwords? Or anything else?
I don’t know what to do, but I have to do it fast. So, if you have any ideas…

@sef yes change your password and make sure you have enabled one of the Brute Force features. Also go to Scanner -> File Change Detection and perform a scan. You might also want to try DB Scan.

    Hi mbrsolution,

The Brute Force feature is already enabled since the beginning. My wp-admin url is changed already, also since the beginning. I also tried a couple of times the scan, but it doesn’t do anything, like a bug. It gives a blank screen without any results…

    Hi,
I’m not sure why you are getting that “plugin file does not exist” error.
Have you talked to your host support people? They might able to tell why this is happening.

Also, an alternative way to install the plugin is to manually install the files using FTP – have you tried that?

    Hi wpsolutions,

I did not ask my host about this, because I’m affraid they will tell me it’s a WP thing and has nothing to do with their hostsystem… But I will try.

I didn’t use ftp. When I see it is deleted (2x or maybe 3x happened) I did install it via WP admin panel. It is going well for now. I did change all my passwords, including ftp and database passwords. Maybe this will help.

Do you know why I can’t scan? See reactions above please.

    Ty,

It gives a blank screen without any results

If you’re seeing a blank screen during scan it is likely your server is running out of memory.
Check your server’s log file and look for any fatal errors.

    Hi

I’ve got 6 logfiles from the last 4 days from the logs directory, before my wwwroot directory. Where should I look at?
